Join us on Wednesday, January 28th, for Food for Thought featuring Mary Hale (Associate Teaching Professor of Architecture) and Jose Luis García del Castillo y López (Teaching Professor of Computational Design).

This month’s Food for Thought will feature two faculty who have been experimenting with and incorporating AI into their teaching and learning. Join us to hear about how they are adjusting their classroom approaches to keep pace with (and get ahead of!) the rapidly evolving AI landscape.  All faculty, staff, and students are welcome. Lunch will be served. No RSVP required.

MARY HALE is an Associate Teaching Professor in
Architecture. She is a designer with a focus on
ephemeral spatial experiences, animated and brought
to life through projection and movement. Mary founded
ROYHALE, an interdisciplinary art, design and design-
research practice. She produces multi-media dance,
video, sound and architecture installations, and her
work has been widely recognized through books and
international art, design and technology publications.

JOSE LUIS GARCÍA DEL CASTILLO Y LÓPEZ
is a Teaching Professor of Computational Design in
the department of Art + Design. He is a computational
designer, architect and educator. In his research, he
examines, questions, and reinvents the tools we use for
design, enabling new modes of access, expression and
creativity. By bridging design, computer science, and
cognitive theories, his work advances human-computer
interaction across computational design, digital
fabrication, robotics, and AI.
