The first CfD Conversations Series event of the Fall 2025 semester explores design and money. Özlem Er, Nathan Felde, Guy Julier and Dulmini Perera will share perspectives that address this moment of great uncertainty for design practices and education. While discussing the notion of money, the panelists will consider factors such as intellectual property ownership, AI, politics, design as a luxury service, compensation, validation and recognition, and more. The goal of this conversation will be to stimulate thinking across a range of issues that are rarely addressed within the field of design and to illuminate the various ways that design operates within local, national and global economies. The panelists also hope to generate persistent interest in equitable compensation for design services and economic validation of emerging design practices.

This event is hybrid. Register to attend in person at the button or virtually here.
