Join Northeastern artists and researchers for an interactive workshop to explore the intersections of environmental sensing technologies, climate and ecological systems research, and artistic practice. In the era of the Anthropocene, as our environmental systems surpass critical tipping points that make restoration to pre-industrial conditions impossible, traditional disciplinary boundaries and methodological approaches are proving insufficient for understanding human-environment interactions and responding to rapid ecological change. Artistic practice serves as a crucial mode of inquiry for sensing humanity’s place within natural systems and understanding human-environment entanglements.
Northeastern faculty, staff, and graduate students working in any field are invited to join this interdisciplinary workshop, hosted by the Center for Design, CAMD Research Development, and the Art+ Science Synthesis Working Group. This faculty workshop is organized in conjunction with the Gallery 360 exhibition “Hannah Perrine Mode: Remote Sensing.”
