IDDV Exhibition: This is Information Design

The exhibition presented 16 stories – in the form of synthesis maps – explaining the contribution and benefits of information design to another discipline and specific audience. Together the collection of maps built a complete picture of the practice, its goal, scope, and value, as well as how it is done. Synthesis maps are intrinsic tools to information design used to aid visual sensemaking and communication. By engaging in concept modeling, mapping, and visual thinking techniques throughout the course, students made sense of foundational concepts and theoretical models of the practice. For the final project, they synthesized their understanding in one piece to help others deepen their own understanding of information design.

This exhibition showcased work from MS + MFA IDDV students created in the ARTG 6110 Information Design & Critical Theory course.
