Social media has become a key part of discovering, expressing, and communicating about marginalized identity, but for each benefit of social media for marginalized people, there is usually a dire negative. In this project, we are investigating how one’s position within social media networks impacts identity development and enables activist/educator communication in light of the risks of context collapse across networks, especially when context collapse is used as a weapon by bad actors seeking to harass and abuse marginalized people online.
