Documentaries provide an opportunity for exploration, and during my time at Northeastern, I’ve had the chance to explore both internally and externally. I first developed a short documentary about my family’s experience with Alzheimer’s, which challenged my skill as a creator and as a family member as I walked the line of how much to put myself into the work. I soon realized this is always a a consideration, even when producing documentaries about topics and people outside of my family members.

As my capstone project, I produced and co-directed New Horizons, which explores the journeys of young adults experiencing homelessness in the Boston community with the help of a local nonprofit, Breaktime. As I graduate Northeastern, I feel confident in my outlet of exploration through documentary filmmaking and am excited to see what else I discover within myself and in the community.
