The Thing We Live Inside is a single-channel video installation made of layered stock footage showing landscapes irreversibly altered by human extractivism, from factory emissions to biodiversity loss and extreme weather. Drawing on Timothy Morton’s concept of the hyperobject, it frames climate change as something vast, distributed, and difficult to fully grasp. The piece reflects on our entanglement with non-human systems and unsettles the idea of humans as central to or separate from the environments we inhabit.
