Trump Tweets from AI

Black Box: This project is about using black-boxed artificial intelligence to assist in creating an artwork or design artifact. Black box software is software where the internal functionality is not known, which is the case with most commercially available software that is not open source. There are also many pre-trained machine learning models that are also black-boxed because the end users/researchers do not have access to the training data. The goal of the project is to offload some key aspect(s) of the decision-making process to a piece of software that you do not understand or have control over.

For my project, I used the LLAMA learning language model in LM Studios to try to recreate famous Trump tweets via the system prompts available in that model and asking specific questions. I also compared it to the site
https://personas.omi.me/  that creates AI persona’s based on a user’s Twitter accounts, where I chatted with an AI model based on Trump’s accounts.

I found varying degrees of success in trying to replicate Trump’s tweets with both models but found it easier to replicate Trump’s style with the LLAMA model, even though I only used a system prompt to direct its responses. Overall the project showed the versatility in learning language models to replicate different styles of speech compared to the more dull way consumer models such as omi tend to express themselves.
