The Future of Local News is an ongoing project that examines the crisis in community journalism, profiling entrepreneurs and thought leaders who are charting the way forward. The project, headed by Professor Dan Kennedy and Faculty Affiliate Ellen Clegg, both of the School of Journalism, comprises a book (“What Works in Community News,” Beacon Press, 2024), an every-other-week podcast, and a digital publication that serves as an extension of the book.
