Immersive Media Lab

The Immersive Media Lab is the central hub for Extended Reality (XR) at CAMD. Encompassing Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and 360-degree video creation.

Students are able to fully immersive themselves in other worlds with high performance VR and MR headsets. Users develop and test games, explore new avenues for storytelling and journalism, leverage 3D scanners for photogrammetry, and engage in grant funded XR research.

The journalism department houses a Mac computer lab with the latest software including Adobe Creative Suite and video and audio editing programs.

The CAMD Piano Lab is available to students enrolled in MUSC 1205 (Piano Class), music theory courses, curricular music ensembles, and all Music majors and minors.

The digital pianos (Yamaha P-121) are stored and played in Shillman 205, but eligible student need to report to Shillman 225 for MSO staff to sign them in (and admit them to Shillman 205) and to sign out when they’ve finished practicing. The Student Proctor on duty can help a new student set up a piano for the first time and help them store it after they’re done.
