Students in Professor Mike Beaudet’s Investigative Reporting class sifted through hundreds of emails obtained through a public records request and discovered the ParkBoston app had overcharged thousands of people multiple times totaling about $31,000. But the city “thought it best” not to tell anyone about it. The story aired April 3 on WCVB-TV, Boston Channel 5. Students participating in the project were undergrads Sydne Mass, Ellie Williams, and graduate students Cody Mello-Klein, and Bridget Peery.
