Associate Professor Ivan Rupnik  took his Graduate Research Studio to  tour Simplex Homes, in Scranton, PA, the leading manufacturer of modular housing. The graduate research studio is studying Simplex’s methods to understand both how architects might better utilize this new mode of housing delivery as well as how such fabrication facilities themselves might be designed in the future. Working with Prof. Barry Bluestone, and other experts, the graduate studio hopes to apply these lessons to the Boston context.

Jason Drouse, David Mertz, John Baker and Bill Feduchak of Simplex Homes showed the students around the facility and discussed the process. The students really appreciated the time taken by the team from Simplex.
