Music Composition and Technology senior Matt Belmont is presenting two 4-channel acousmatic pieces at the New Ideas in Music and Sound concert at the Parker Hill Branch of the Boston Public Library (Roxbury Crossing) on Thursday, April 14 at 6pm. This event is free.

L’Horloge Comtoise (French for “grandfather clock”) includes sounds sources from said grandfather clock, Chinese chime spheres, footsteps in a stairwell, and the inside of a piano.

Alheimurinn explores the ability – or inability – to obscure words’ meanings by rearranging their phonemes, as well as the human voice’s resonant quality.

 On Saturday, April 23, Matt will be showcasing his other works in the Music Composition and Technology Senior Capstone Concert at the Fenway Center.
