Caitlin Smith Rapoport

Caitlin is a lighting designer for theater, opera, dance, interdisciplinary performance, and architecture, with a freelance career spanning nearly two decades. Recent work in New York theaters includes The Daryl Roth, Theater Row, Ars Nova, SoHo Playhouse, 59E59, Judson Church and New Ohio. Caitlin was also the associate designer to Jennifer Tipton for To Kill A Mockingbird on Broadway. Regional credits include Milwaukee Rep, REDCAT, Yale Repertory Theatre, Two River Theater, Theater Squared, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, and Totem Pole Playhouse.

Other recent career highlights include work with Nashville Ballet (Anthology), and international tours with Wakka Wakka Productions, and Circus Xanti based in Norway. Caitlin has also worked for the architectural lighting firm LUCE Group on multiple theme parks, and The National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Caitlin has a BA from the UMass Amherst, and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama. She is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
