Barbara Englesberg is a Lesson Instructor in Viola and Violin at Northeastern. She studied at UC Santa Barbara, Peabody Conservatory, and Boston University, where she completed her doctorate in music in 1987.  Her major violin teachers were Joseph Fuchs, Berl Senofsky, Joseph Silverstein, Valerie Kuchment and Ronan Lefkowitz. Assistant concertmaster and founding member of Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Ms.Englesberg is a member of the Handel & Haydn Society Orchestra and has performed with the Boston Ballet, Boston Lyric Opera and many other organizations in the New England area.  A member of the Leonora Quartet, she teaches at the All-Newton Music School, Northeastern University, coaches chamber music, and performs recitals. Ms. Englesberg has also performed in the Scarlatti Festival, Palermo, Sicily and at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.
