Reina Suyeon Mun

Reina is a design researcher and creative technologist whose work ranges from interactive and responsive objects to spatial environments. Her research focuses on the affective dimensions of human experience and interactions with tangible artifacts and the physical domain by integrating machine learning, physical computing, fabrication, and sensory design.

Reina received her MS degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a graduate fellow, focusing her research on interactivity strategies and the affective influences of material artifacts. Before that, she graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London with a BArch with Honors. She has also been a visiting studio critic at the AA School of Architecture. Professionally, she has collaborated with various design and creative technology studios based in South Korea, NYC, and London.

Reina’s work has been disseminated and showcased at international venues, including the Korean Cultural Center UK (KCCUK), MIT Museum, Ammerman Center Biennial Symposium, Kazerne – Home of Design, Art Center Nabi, CAA Conference, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, Rhode Island School of Design, Leonardo/ISAST Journal, MIT’s Center for Art, Science & Technology, Boston Design Week, Complex Cultural Space, Hyundai Motor Group ZER01NE, and Dutch Design Week, among others. She is also a recipient of the Artist-in-Residence program at MassMoCA.
