Simon Metcalf has a lifelong passion for craft and fabrication. Before coming to Northeastern, he spent five years at a Boston-Area independent high school where he established a new multimedia makerspace and associated engineering curriculum. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and is knowledgeable about a wide range of making disciplines.
Simon believes that hands-on making is an integral part of an education in physical design, and that students learn best via a multi-step curriculum in a supportive environment.
