The School of Architecture and Department of English offer an interdisciplinary combined major in architecture and English. Students interested in the combined major integrate the study of literature and writing with the rigorous design methods of architecture. This program offers a flexible curriculum focused on key contemporary topics related to the built environment.

The Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and English emphasizes foundational design methods in architecture, a grounding in architectural history and literature, and writing skills, while also offering a flexible curriculum focused on key contemporary topics related to the built environment and allowing for topic specialization.

Students will emerge with a strong graphic and written portfolio, a foundational grounding in architectural design, and will be well equipped for further graduate education or work experience in design-related fields and creative industries. The Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and English can be completed in four years.

Learning Outcomes

Students who graduate from Northeastern University with a degree in architecture, architectural studies or landscape architecture will be able to:
