Architecture
Architects and landscape architects play a critical role in engaging with some of the world’s most complex issues—from climate change to urban density, social and economic diversity to cultural preservation. The School of Architecture’s undergraduate and graduate programs aim to furnish each student with a deep understanding of the field’s fundamentals while developing a holistic perspective of architecture’s vast scope and impact. Our graduates leave ready to tackle the evolving challenges of society and our physical environment.
“
Our School is focused on how architecture, landscape, and urban design negotiate the diverse concerns that are inherent to our urbanized context and ultimately shape how we live.

Featured Student Work
Ghost Trees
Art + Design, Architecture
Assistant professor of art + design and architecture Sonia Ralston worked with the Arnold Arboretum for the augmented reality (AR) project Ghost Trees.
Industrial Influence
Architecture
This proposal by Josie Cerbone, Jonathan Zoccoli & Bhavyasri Kattamudi explores the potential to use urban design to prevent the spread of contaminants in the case of a public health emergency.
Pioneer Valley Research and Engagement
Architecture
A collection of initial site research conducted throughout the Fall semester, in addition to graphical illustrations made throughout the whole year that represent that foundational knowledge for our thesis projects.
Systems Integration Project
Architecture
Final Project for Architecture COMP STUDIO ARCH 5120 lead by Professors David Fannon and Michelle Laboy. This project, which site is located in Allston MA, explored the construction of a building that allows adaptive reuse to ensure it last longer. We proposed three programs: a brewery, an art gallery and a performance hall. The building uses passive ventilation techniques, and it is designed to be underground, with three pavilions raising above the ground.
Phase 4.0: The Exquisite
Architecture
This project by students Carson Dallas and Bianca Rabbie strives to create a lasting structure that provides a forced irregularity through many iterations over the course of time.
