There are two ways international students may be eligible:  

International applicants are eligible to waive the English proficiency testing requirement if they have received or are completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the U.S.  This should automatically waive when you upload a copy of your transcript to the application portal.  

International applicants are eligible to waive the English proficiency testing if they have received or are completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at a college or university in which English is the only language of instruction. Please upload the medium of instruction letter or documentation to the application portal with your transcripts.  

You can log in to the online application system to check the status of your application.

Our application processing team will review submitted application documents to ensure all requirements are complete before moving an application forward for committee review. Please continue to check the application status portal for any updates from the application processing team.

After you complete your application in the portal, please be sure to click the “Submit” button located at the bottom of the application review page.  Otherwise, we will not be able to move your application forward in the review process.

*Previously submitted application fees cannot be refunded. 

Decision notifications will be posted to the application portal. For the fall start term, master’s and certificate applications completed before February 1 will be reviewed beginning in early February and decisions will be posted mid-March. For the master’s and certificate programs that continue to accept applications until the final deadlines of May 1 (for international applicants) and August 1 (for domestic applicants), the committees will review completed applications monthly throughout the spring and early summer.

All incoming students need to apply and be accepted into their graduate program at CAMD.  Students may be able to transfer graduate credits but there are some restrictions. The student services team will work with incoming students.

You can review your application checklist and status via the application status portal.

Your recommenders will receive instructions for uploading their letters to the application portal once you enter their contact information in the system. You will need to list an email address for each reference.

Please note, letters of recommendation need to be submitted directly by the recommender.  We cannot accept letters of recommendation from applicants.

Enrolling students must submit official transcripts and degree confirmations within 30 days from the start of their first academic term.

All admitted full-time master’s students are automatically considered for a College of Arts, Media and Design Graduate Student Scholarship (GSS).  Applicants do not need to submit additional materials for GSS consideration.  GSS awards are merit-based and consist of a percentage tuition reduction. Graduate assistantships also may become available during the course of the graduate program. Assistantships are compensated as hourly pay and can take the form of research or administrative roles within a student’s academic department. Students are typically eligible to apply for available assistantship positions after completing at least one semester of their graduate program. However, if positions are available for the upcoming semester, the department will reach out to admitted students. 

Please note, certificate programs are not eligible for scholarship funding.

Graduate Studies at CAMD offers a part-time, non-degree option called “Special Student” status. Special students apply through the online application system. Special students are enrolled on a part-time basis and cannot exceed more than six credits per semester. A maximum of twelve credits over time may be earned prior to applying to a degree program. Please refer to the applicable materials required and deadlines for special students.
