Rekindle is a first-person Interactive Digital Narrative (IDN) virtual reality (VR) experience that tracks player emotions in the hopes of fostering empathy for marginalized communities.
The narrative is set in a dystopian future where a regime enforces stringent heteronormativity through the manipulation of memories. The user embodies a gay protagonist on a journey to retrieve lost memories one at a time. This project endeavors to push the boundaries of interactive narrative in virtual reality, exploring how embodiment and agency-driven interactions can enhance narrative, deepening user engagement and emotional connection.
