Ryder Makerspace

A hub for creative, collaborative and inclusive fabrication among all CAMD majors, faculty and staff, the makerspace is equipped with professional, industry-standard equipment for woodworking, additive manufacturing, and laser cutting to encourage the exploration of materials and processes as they relate to the design and innovation process.

Support and research

Our makerspaces support work spanning physical computing, industrial design, architectural modeling, wearable technology, fiber arts, and interdisciplinary material exploration.

Expectations and Rules

A CAMD Makerspace Orientation as well as specific tool training is required prior to all use of equipment and machinery.

The Ryder Makerspace is managed in a consistent fashion as all other CAMD Makerspaces. The lab is open Sundays through Fridays during academic semesters and is supervised daily by student staff. A total of 5 workbench areas can be reserved at a time.
