Makerspaces

The CAMD Makerspaces are an interdisciplinary fabrication ecosystem. They support design, architecture, art, technology and craft.

The Makerspaces emphasize meaning through making. The multiple tailored spaces provide access to prototypical hand tools, woodworking instruments, laser-cutting and engraving machines, CNC routing capabilities, additive manufacturing solutions, 3D scanning, textile and fibers machines, and electronics research.

Current CAMD Students, Faculty and Staff should visit the CAMD Hub for more information and calendars for each MSO space.

Ryder Hall Makerspace

The Ryder Makerspace serves as a hub for creative, collaborative and inclusive fabrication. Outfitted with professional, industry-standard equipment for woodworking, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and laser cutting, we encourage the exploration of materials and processes as they relate to the design and innovation process.

Ruggles Makerspace

The Ruggles Architecture Studio includes the essential fabrication facilities run by the CAMD Makerspace team, including a CNC Lab, Laser Lab, as well as 3D Printing and Hand Tool areas.

Creative Technologies Lab

The Creative Technologies Lab is CAMD’s dust free fabrication space. This lab supports a wide variety of interdisciplinary processes including physical computing, electronics, wearable computing, advanced additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, 3D resin printing, vinyl cutting, soft sculpture, and fiber arts.
