What’s your favorite part about working with students?
I love being in a position where I feel like I can teach students how to find their voice, how to find what they are passionate about, and how to advocate for themselves during their time here. The small moments, where we can take a minute to connect over music, pop culture, cats on the Internet, or tiny dinosaurs before or after dissecting a myPAWS audit … those are some of the best perks of this job.
What resources are you most excited to share with students?
The Peer Mentoring Program! This university is huge and Maggie and Alison have done an amazing job of creating and implementing this program.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Ask questions, ask for help, but try not to be too afraid to make mistakes.
“You will only fail to learn if you do not learn from failing.” – Stella Adler
