What’s your favorite part about working with students?
I really enjoy learning about students’ lives, their aspirations, and their points of view, and then helping them to set out on a professional path. It’s especially fun to see where their academic and co-op experiences take them, both figuratively and literally!
What resources are you most excited to share with students?
The Northeastern Cooperative Education program has an extensive database of all kinds of employers who partner with us and offer students phenomenal experiences. It’s exciting to be able to offer students the opportunity to apply for positions with these companies.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Take advantage of all the people at Northeastern who are available to help and advise you. Certainly a lot can be accomplished online, but nothing takes the place of personal relationships. Make appointments with your co-op coordinator and advisors, and touch base with them in person on a regular basis so they get to know you as an individual. These personal relationships will benefit you while you’re at Northeastern and beyond, so make the time to cultivate them.
The College of Arts, Media and Design has a number of talented staff who are all here to help you. Meet some of our amazing advisors, staff members, and coordinators in our new series of profiles. Make sure to reach out to them with any questions you may have!
