Title: Engaging in science with virtual reality technologies
Abstract: Immersive technologies are increasingly prevalent in our lives, from mobile-based augmented reality to virtual reality (VR) headsets like the Meta Quest to spatial computing devices like the Apple Vision Pro. How do these technologies provide new ways for understanding science and the work of scientists? In this presentation, I will discuss my research using VR in education to highlight the promise and limitations of immersive technology for increasing engagement with and understanding of science.
