About

We’re proud to offer a Master of Fine Arts, a Master of Science, and a Graduate Certificate in Information Design and Data Visualization.

The Information Design and Data Visualization program uniquely combines analytical methods with distinctive training in visual communication. Successful graduates gain expertise in the visual and technological languages of data, applying modes of visual cognition and using analytics tools to create interactive, data-driven communication and installations. Both our MS and MFA degrees are STEM-designated. This design-centric program prepares graduates to collaborate across a variety of fields and settings, crossing the bridge between technology, public communication and systems design. Our interdisciplinary program trains students to harness visual languages to investigate and communicate relevant issues, taking full advantage of the incredible breadth of research opportunities at Northeastern University. This website is our cohort’s digital sandbox, a space for updates about our activities, collaborations, events and projects in progress. Information about curricula and applications can be found in the College’s website.

We welcome applicants from all disciplines and at all points in their professional careers. We encourage you to check out the collection of stories and students in here. If you have any questions regarding your application or about the program in general, contact:
